Accordionist Fabrice Sicco was born in France, spent his adolescence in Italy and, after a short stay in North Africa and a return to France, settled in Toronto where he transports audiences to the cafés of Paris through his subtle, melodious phrasings. Toronto Star music critic, Geoff Chapman had this to say about Fabrice's playing: "…it was grand to hear Fabrice Sicco assert his accordion, thus adding a rich textured cushion of sound - and making the mood even more Parisian". A founding and former member of Club Django Sextet, Fabrice is a twice recipient of the Best Traditional Jazz Album award presented by the Canadian Collectors' Congress. Fabrice has appeared at numerous prestigious venues, including the Sound of Toronto Jazz series, the Distillery Jazz Festival, Harbourfront Centre, South American music festivals, the Aylmer Jazz Festival and the Du Maurier Downtown Jazz Festival.
Self-taught on chromatic button accordion, guitar and other instruments, Fabrice has composed for award-winning films. His own band, Swing Valse, offers a repertory of musical forms evoking cosmopolitan Parisian life from the 1920s to 1950s, including valses musette, chansons, gypsy music, and swing.
